Hello, I'm moving up to the area in a few months and I was just curious, what kind of music is going on up there? I play drums, guitar, and bass, and I also record. I'm up for any kind of jam session, or even starting a band. Any kind of music, hell, polka! Bring it on! But if there must be a prefrence, I'm down with the thrash, propagandhi, I-spy, True North. I'm moving from the Gainsville Florida area, which as you may or may not know is home to good ol' bands such as Hot Water Music, Against Me!, Strikeforce Diablo. It's also home to No Idea Records, which again, you may or may not know about.
Of course it doesn't have to be thrash, I don't care! I just want to play and record music with some cool people!

Re: Thrash anyone?
Tue, December 12, 2006 - 7:29 PMI should introduce you to my man Chris! He'll be here in January.
He is a guitarist.
As for what's here? There's a few crusty punk bands, not many places for them to play, and the country-ish-folk influenced stuff.
I love Against Me! and know No Idea :) -

Thu, December 14, 2006 - 4:46 PMThe distance between Leese and the bands she likes is zero, since the internets came along. -

Thu, December 14, 2006 - 8:03 PMHeh! I've seen Against me! twice. They came up here on the Fat Tour and in Phoenix when they toured with Alkaline Trio,...(swoon!)
Good music has a way of travelling and spreading itself around :)
